Position Summary

The FP&A Manager will play a critical role in driving financial planning, analysis, and decision support for a manufacturing organization. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, and leadership to improve financial performance, support strategic initiatives, and enhance visibility into cost drivers and operational metrics. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical rigor, advanced technical skills, and hands-on manufacturing experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes for manufacturing operations
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial results, including variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior periods
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives, capital investments, pricing, and cost optimization
  • Partner with manufacturing, operations, and supply chain leaders to understand production costs, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, and inventory trends
  • Analyze manufacturing KPIs such as gross margin, throughput, yields, scrap, and utilization
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI or similar BI platforms
  • Leverage data from ERP systems and databases using SQL or comparable query tools to improve analysis and reporting efficiency
  • Support leadership with insights, recommendations, and clear financial presentations
  • Continuously improve FP&A processes, data accuracy, and automation
  • Mentor and develop junior analysts, as applicable

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive FP&A or financial analysis experience
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis skills
  • Advanced technical skills, including experience with:
    • SQL or similar database querying tools
    • Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence platforms
    • Advanced Excel (financial modeling, Power Query/Power Pivot preferred)
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and business-partnering skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing industry experience (highly preferred)
  • Experience supporting plant operations, cost accounting, or standard cost environments
  • Familiarity with ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics)
  • MBA, CPA, or CMA a plus but not required
