JOB SUMMARY
The Cabinet Designer is responsible for creating accurate cabinetry layouts and installation drawings using 20/20 design software to support customer presentations and field execution. This role partners closely with Sales, Field Supervisors, Installation Managers, and builders to ensure designs align with project specifications, measurements, and timelines.
On a daily basis, the Cabinet Designer manages projects from initial lot release through installation, reviews builder documents and selections, prepares measure packages, updates layouts based on field measurements, and generates complete order documentation. Success in this role means maintaining accuracy, meeting deadlines, supporting seamless installation, and contributing to overall customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage cabinet design projects from lot release through final installation
• Review builder plans, specifications, and selections for accuracy and completeness
• Prepare detailed measure packages including floorplans, elevations, and cabinet layouts
• Coordinate with field personnel to ensure timely and accurate measurements
• Review returned measure sheets and identify discrepancies or field issues
• Update and finalize cabinet layouts and elevations using 20/20 software
• Create detailed installation drawings, notes, and diagrams (appliances, custom features, etc.)
• Generate accurate cabinet material lists including all components and accessories
• Prepare and submit complete cabinet order packages
• Coordinate with sales, purchasing, warehouse, and operations teams to resolve issues
• Track project progress and ensure timelines for delivery and installation are met
• Develop installation packets including layouts, elevations, and checklists
• Maintain accurate project documentation and upload files to company systems
• Communicate proactively regarding design changes, discrepancies, or delays
• Support post-installation updates, change orders, and builder requests
• Follow company policies and procedures
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Experience with 20/20 design software or similar kitchen design programs
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications (nice-to-haves)
• Experience in cabinet design, construction, or related industry
• Familiarity with builder plans, elevations, and specifications
• Experience working with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents
Experience in cabinet design or construction is preferred but not required. We are willing to train motivated candidates who demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and strong organizational skills.
