Position Summary
The Controller will oversee all financial operations of the company, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role also includes responsibility for payroll processing, HR administration, and contributing to strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong financial acumen and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Accounting Operations
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including AP/AR, general ledger, and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
- Support financial analysis for advisory and M&A engagements.
Payroll & HR Administration
- Process bi-weekly payroll and manage payroll records.
- Administer employee benefits and coordinate with external providers.
- Maintain HR documentation and support onboarding/offboarding processes.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations and HR policy guidance.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and mentor a small finance and operations team.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic initiatives.
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Preferred Experience & Skills
- 7+ years of experience in accounting or financial management.
- Experience in financial services, advisory, or M&A environments preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.) and Excel.
- Familiarity with payroll systems and HR platforms.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred but not required.
