The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements for assigned business units or regions while ensuring compliance with established accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting standards. This role also provides leadership to an accounting team and partners with operational leaders to support financial reporting and process improvements.
Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver accurate and timely monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for assigned business units.
  • Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations and supporting documentation.
  • Review and post journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor an accounting team through hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and employee development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional growth by providing clear direction and regular feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and internal control procedures.
  • Review and analyze general ledger activity to identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Research and explain financial statement variances and account fluctuations.
  • Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for audits, tax reporting, and other financial reporting requirements.
  • Partner with operational leaders to review financial results, answer questions, and identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and participate in cross-functional projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Progressive accounting experience with prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
  • Experience preparing monthly financial statements and supporting external audits.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
