Director of Advisory & Client Services
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of business owner clients.
  • Lead recurring financial reviews, budgeting discussions, cash flow planning, and strategic business meetings.
  • Build trusted relationships with founders, executives, bankers, attorneys, and external advisors.
  • Ensure exceptional client service and retention.

Hands-On Accounting & Finance

  • Review and assist with monthly closes, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and reporting packages.
  • Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Support bookkeeping, AR, AP, payroll, inventory, and back-office functions as needed.
  • Build budgets, forecasts, cash flow models, and KPI dashboards.
  • Assist clients with system implementations and process improvements.

Advisory & Growth Support

  • Provide ongoing CFO-level guidance on profitability, working capital, growth planning, and operational performance.
  • Assist with lender reporting, banking relationships, and financing activities.
  • Support transaction readiness, quality of earnings preparation, and due diligence efforts.
  • Participate in valuation, acquisition, and business sale discussions when appropriate.

Team Management

  • Supervise accountants, analysts, and support staff.
  • Review work product and ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Develop processes, workflows, and best practices to support firm growth.
  • Mentor junior team members and foster a high-accountability culture.

Business Development

  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships.
  • Participate in networking, referrals, and new business pursuits.
  • Assist with proposals, onboarding, and client presentations.
  • Represent the firm within the local business community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of accounting, finance, advisory, public accounting, or outsourced CFO experience.
  • Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and operational finance experience.
  • Experience working directly with business owners and executive leadership.
  • M&A, transaction advisory, or business valuation exposure preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients while remaining deeply involved in execution.
