The Sr. Manager Manufacturing Engineering provides strategic leadership for the site’s Engineering and Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and long-term business strategy. This role is accountable for product quality, process integrity, manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, maintenance, and technical innovation across the facility.
The Sr. Manager ensures nonconforming products do not reach customers by fostering a proactive, prevention-based quality culture while simultaneously driving engineering excellence in product design support, manufacturing process optimization, and capital deployment. As a key member of the site leadership team, this role champions operational excellence, compliance, risk mitigation, technical rigor, and customer satisfaction while building a high-performing, future-focused organization

Reports To:   General Manager

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lead site Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Maintenance teams.
  • Develop and execute quality and engineering strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO and regulatory standards.
  • Ensures all preventive maintenance (PM) requirements and schedules are loaded into the asset management system
  • Drive structured root cause problem solving using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Oversee customer complaint resolution and supplier quality performance.
  • Improve first-pass yield, process capability, and cost of poor quality.
  • Lead capital projects, equipment validation, and new product introduction readiness.
  • Maintains plant-wide and business-unit equipment specifications to minimize spare parts lists and ensure redundancy
  • Establish KPIs and provide executive-level reporting on quality and engineering performance.
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing technical teams.

required skills & qualifications
Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of machining, assembly, automation, and manufacturing systems.
  • Expertise in quality systems, statistical analysis, process capability, and validation methodologies.
  • Experience leading Manufacturing Engineering and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success with capital project execution and equipment implementation.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and QMS platforms.

  • Proven ability to lead managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with strong project management capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cultural change and operational improvement.
  • Exceptional communication and executive-level presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical decision-making and problem-solving ability.

Education / Experience
Education and Formal Training: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial required).
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive engineering, quality, or operations leadership experience in manufacturing
  • 5+ years in a senior leadership capacity preferred

Certifications (Preferred):

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent
  • ISO Internal Auditor Certification
  • Weld Inspection Certification (if applicable to product line)
