Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain the fiscal health of assigned projects through job cost tracking, contract compliance, and budget analysis.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate processing of subcontractor invoices, purchase orders, and change orders.
- Prepare monthly owner billings and ensure proper lien waivers, insurance documentation, and contract terms are met.
- Assist in project forecasts, revenue recognition, and cost-to-complete analysis.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, GAAP standards, and project-specific requirements.
- Track committed costs, open POs, and pending invoices to support accurate cost projections.
- Review and reconcile job cost ledgers, retainage, and project accruals in coordination with the corporate accounting team.
- Provide financial support for project audits, internal reviews, and client reporting.
- Maintain proper documentation and digital records in project management and ERP systems (e.g., Procore, Sage 300 CRE).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the commercial, energy, civil or construction industry.
- Proficiency in construction accounting software
