We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Process Documentation Specialist to join our team on a project basis. This role focuses on creating, organizing, and maintaining comprehensive documentation for accounting processes, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workflows, and compliance guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance or accounting and proven experience in process documentation within corporate or professional environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze existing accounting processes and identify documentation needs.
- Develop clear, accurate, and user-friendly process documentation, SOPs, and workflow diagrams.
- Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure documentation reflects current practices and compliance requirements.
- Standardize documentation formats and maintain version control for all process materials.
- Conduct interviews and workshops with subject matter experts to capture process details.
- Ensure documentation aligns with internal controls, regulatory standards, and audit requirements.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements based on findings during documentation.
- Train team members on how to use and maintain documented processes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in process documentation, SOP development, or similar roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial workflows.
Skills:
- Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills.
- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office, Visio, or other process mapping software.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a project-based environment.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP highly preferred).
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOX, GAAP).
- Project management experience or certification (PMP, CAPM) is a plus.
