We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Process Documentation Specialist to join our team on a project basis. This role focuses on creating, organizing, and maintaining comprehensive documentation for accounting processes, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workflows, and compliance guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance or accounting and proven experience in process documentation within corporate or professional environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing accounting processes and identify documentation needs.
  • Develop clear, accurate, and user-friendly process documentation, SOPs, and workflow diagrams.
  • Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure documentation reflects current practices and compliance requirements.
  • Standardize documentation formats and maintain version control for all process materials.
  • Conduct interviews and workshops with subject matter experts to capture process details.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with internal controls, regulatory standards, and audit requirements.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements based on findings during documentation.
  • Train team members on how to use and maintain documented processes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in process documentation, SOP development, or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial workflows.

Skills:

  • Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office, Visio, or other process mapping software.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a project-based environment.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with ERP systems (SAP highly preferred).
    • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOX, GAAP).
    • Project management experience or certification (PMP, CAPM) is a plus.
