The Assistant Project Accountant provides accounting and administrative support to the Project Accounting team. This role plays a key part in ensuring project and office operations run smoothly by assisting with financial transactions, compliance, and recordkeeping.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process miscellaneous invoices

  • Scan, code, and enter invoices for payment

  • Manage credit card transactions and expense reports

  • Route workflows for approval to project accountants, teams, and departments

  • Assist in preparing monthly billing backup for project owners

  • Set up and maintain electronic project files as needed

  • Support project closeout procedures

  • Submit and track insurance forms and certificates for compliance review

  • Generate and review reports to identify contract compliance issues

  • Perform other duties as assigned


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience in the construction industry

  • Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail

  • Team-oriented with a client service mindset

  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated ability to perform tasks accurately with minimal supervision

  • Proven capability to build effective working relationships with vendors, subcontractors, colleagues, and managers

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
