We are seeking an experienced Producing Branch Manager to lead our Insurance Agency office in Port St. Lucie.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can both manage and produce. The right person will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the branch, coaching and developing the team, driving new business and retention, maintaining strong operational discipline, and personally contributing to production.
This is not a purely administrative management position. We are looking for someone who enjoys sales, understands the Florida personal lines market, can lead by example, and is comfortable being accountable for both individual and branch performance.
The Branch Manager will report to the Vice President of Sales and work closely with operations and leadership.
Primary Responsibilities
Branch Leadership & Accountability
- Lead the day-to-day activities and performance.
- Manage, coach, and develop the personal lines sales and service team.
- Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for activity, production, follow-up, retention, and client service.
- Conduct regular individual and team performance discussions.
- Identify performance gaps early and develop practical action plans to improve results.
- Create a positive, professional culture built around accountability, responsiveness, teamwork, and client service.
- Serve as the primary on-site leader for the branch.
Sales & Production
- Maintain a personal book of new business production while managing the team.
- Lead by example through active selling, follow-up, cross-selling, and relationship development.
- Assist team members with larger, more complicated, or difficult accounts.
- Help agents improve quote-to-bind conversion and overall sales effectiveness.
- Monitor new business opportunities and ensure leads are being worked consistently and promptly.
- Develop referral opportunities and relationships within the local community.
- Support account rounding and cross-selling opportunities across the existing book.
Performance Management
- Monitor branch performance against established goals and expectations.
- Review key metrics including written premium, new business production, rewrites, new customers, quote activity and conversion, account rounding, retention, and follow-up activity.
- Use reporting and pipeline information to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring management attention.
- Work with leadership to develop and implement strategies when branch performance is below expectations.
Retention & Client Experience
- Maintain a strong focus on client retention and proactive renewal management.
- Ensure the team communicates effectively with clients regarding renewals, remarketing, rate changes, and coverage options.
- Assist with escalated client situations and complex retention issues.
- Reinforce a consultative approach focused on coverage, value, and long-term client relationships rather than simply price.
- Ensure service standards and follow-up expectations are consistently met.
Operations, Workflow & Systems
- Ensure established agency procedures and workflows are followed consistently.
- Reinforce proper documentation within the agency management system.
- Monitor outstanding activities and ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
- Work closely with operations and support staff to resolve workflow or service issues.
- Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, communication, and accountability within the branch.
- Work within HawkSoft, the branch's current agency management system.
- Help lead the branch through its planned migration from HawkSoft to Epic, currently anticipated within approximately six months, including reinforcing new workflows, documentation standards, training, and team adoption.
The Branch Manager is expected to manage the operation of the office but will not personally own every administrative task. Central operations and support resources will remain available to the branch.
Qualifications
- Active Florida 2-20 General Lines license strongly preferred.
- Significant personal lines insurance experience in the Florida market.
- Prior experience managing, supervising, or coaching insurance professionals.
- Demonstrated success producing personal lines insurance.
- Strong knowledge of homeowners, auto, flood, umbrella, recreational vehicles, and related personal lines products.
- Comfortable working with multiple carriers and navigating the Florida property insurance market.
- Strong sales, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable reviewing production reports and using performance data to manage a team.
- Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with personal production.
- HawkSoft experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience with Epic is a plus, particularly for a candidate who has previously participated in an agency management system conversion.
- Familiarity with personal lines comparative rating platforms such as QuoteRush, PL Rating, EZLynx, or similar systems is helpful.
Ideal Candidate
The strongest candidate will be someone who:
- Has successfully managed people while continuing to sell.
- Naturally takes ownership and does not wait for problems to be brought to them.
- Enjoys coaching and developing producers.
- Is comfortable having direct accountability conversations.
- Understands that strong sales performance and strong client service go together.
- Can recognize when someone needs coaching, additional support, or increased accountability.
- Is organized enough to manage a branch without becoming consumed by administrative work.
- Has the credibility and insurance knowledge to become the person the team looks to for guidance.
- Can help lead a team through change, including the upcoming transition from HawkSoft to Epic.
- Wants an opportunity to build and improve an office rather than simply maintain the status quo.
