Overview
The Process Systems Mapper role is responsible for creating and maintaining a clear, visual representation of how work flows across the company. This role translates real operational activity into structured process maps that reflect roles, steps, handoffs, and decision points. The role extends from process mapping, validation, identification of gaps and improvement opportunities, to SOP creation. The output becomes the company’s working view of process reality. This is not traditional documentation or passive note-taking. Documentation is an output of structured process mapping, not the primary function. This is a structural translation role. The position supports the development of a company-wide process architecture that improves clarity, reduces ambiguity, and enables consistent execution across lanes.

Reporting Structure
Reports to: Chief of Staff - CEO
Office Embedded within: PMO (Project Management Office)
Works closely with: PMO (initiative visibility and coordination); Department leaders / SMEs (process validation); Leadership (for review and clarification)

Core Responsibilities

  • Map current-state processes based on how work is actually performed
  • Create and maintain clear visual process flows, including: o roles o steps o handoffs o decision points
  • Update process maps in real time during or immediately after working sessions
  • Ensure visual consistency and clarity across all mapped processes
  • Identify and surface: o gaps o ambiguity o breakdown points o workarounds
  • Translate process discussions into structured, usable representations
  • Validate mapped processes with team members to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain alignment between process maps and active operations
  • Organize process maps into a coherent structure across lanes and process groups
  • Develop SOPs only after processes are clearly defined and validated, ensuring alignment between process maps and execution-level documentation
  • Support PMO and Chief of Staff by making process flows visible and actionable

  • Ability to translate complex conversations into clear structure
  • Strong attention to detail and visual clarity
  • Comfort working across multiple teams and functions
  • Ability to ask clarifying questions to resolve ambiguity
  • Ability to recognize inconsistencies and surface them appropriately
  • High discipline in maintaining accuracy and consistency

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience mapping operational or business processes
  • Exposure to process-heavy environments (not required to be industry-specific)
  • Ability to think structurally, not just procedurally
  • Technically adaptable mindset toward tools and systems
  • Comfortable operating in evolving and partially defined environments
