As a key member of the leadership team, you will oversee all accounting functions, manage a small team, drive financial strategy, and work closely with the CEO and COO to support sustainable long-term growth. This is a fully on-site position in Miami, FL, requiring an individual who excels in collaboration, operational support, and real-time decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and COO by delivering financial insights, scenario modeling, and data-driven recommendations.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Develop KPIs, dashboards, and financial reporting packages to improve visibility and performance tracking.
- Support pricing, labor costing, overhead allocation, and margin optimization for MRO services.
Accounting Operations
- Oversee all core accounting functions including AP/AR, payroll, GL, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and accounting best practices.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury processes for a multi-project MRO environment.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Deliver timely variance analysis and financial insights to executive leadership.
- Perform project-level profitability reviews, cost analyses, and performance audits related to MRO operations.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small accounting and finance team.
- Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, HR, and Sales teams.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Optimize ERP/accounting systems and reporting workflows.
- Implement scalable finance processes to support continued growth.
- Maintain strong data integrity and streamline system integrations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7–10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience including management responsibilities.
- Industry experience in aviation, aerospace, or manufacturing is required; MRO experience strongly preferred.
- Experience within midsize organizations (ideally $20M–$100M revenue).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Proven success leading a small team and partnering with senior leadership.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel; experience with modern reporting/BI tools is a plus.
